Business Intelligence Lead, Performance Marketing at Launch Potato, the discovery and conversion company. Launch Potato reaches tens of millions of people each month through brands such as FinanceBuzz, All About Cookies, and OnlyInYourState, converting that attention into results for leading companies. Its mission is to build predictable, high-value customer acquisition at scale by linking discovery, intent, and performance across category-leading consumer brands in finance, travel, and entertainment. The company operates profitably and bootstrapped, with a South Florida HQ and a remote-first team across 18 countries.
Here you own outcomes rather than tasks; work is measured by impact rather than activity. The pace is fast and change is constant, with direct feedback delivered with respect.
Base salary ranges from $120,000 to $150,000 per year, paid semi-monthly.
Must-have skills include expert SQL and comfort with unstructured complex data, extracting accurate insights from raw unstructured data without relying on clean models. Reporting ownership and data literacy: building, standardizing, driving adoption, and leaving teams more data-literate. Performance marketing optimization: connecting data directly to levers that move the business such as campaign performance, conversion rates, or revenue per session. Advanced LookML development or equivalent in Power BI / Tableau: architecting complex models with full understanding of downstream impacts. Curiosity and business depth: asking questions first and growing business knowledge to become a trusted analytical partner rather than just a builder.
Experience required: minimum 7 years in business intelligence or analytics with direct exposure to performance or affiliate marketing. The strongest candidates have owned reporting end-to-end from pipeline to dashboard, worked with messy, complex, third-party data, and partnered closely with business teams to uncover meaningful trends, conduct retrospective analyses, and connect data work to decisions that actually moved the business.
The role involves owning the reporting infrastructure powering decision-making across Credit Cards, Make Money/Manage Money, Banking, and Marketplace verticals, with a clear growth path into a proactive analytical partner. You will be embedded with the business from day one, partnering with Yield, Paid Media, and Account Management teams to uncover meaningful trends, conduct retrospective analyses across experiments, creatives, offers, seasonality, and CAC performance, and challenge the team with insights they are not currently seeing. This is not a role for someone who wants to build dashboards and hand them off; it is for someone who cares deeply about whether the work they build gets used, understood, and acted on.
Performance expectations include:
30 Days: Actively engaging with stakeholders to audit reporting the team consumes and why, identifying discrepancies, redundancies, and inconsistencies across existing dashboards and beginning to develop a roadmap to standardize reporting across assigned verticals.
60 Days: Bridging business context and data understanding by articulating how assigned verticals make money and what the key performance levers are. Actively improving dashboard standardization while executing on ad hoc requests with accuracy and business context.
90 Days: Dashboard standardization in execution with a clear roadmap for how trusted data sources will be developed to improve data consumption efficiency. LookML structure understood well enough to begin making changes with full awareness of downstream impacts. Working relationships with Yield, Paid Media, and Account Management established.
6 Months: Trust built with the business team through education, best practices, and a standardized reporting suite enabling confident self-service analytics. Proactive retrospective analyses delivered across experiments, creatives, offers, seasonality, and CAC performance. Strong understanding of full funnel metrics supporting each team.
Year 1: Trusted technical owner for assigned verticals end-to-end from raw data ingestion through final dashboard. Reporting standardization complete, retrospective analysis a consistent output, and the business team views you as a go-to analytical partner who recommends action, not just reports findings.
Competencies: analytical rigor (asking hard questions and tracing discrepancies to the source before drawing conclusions), reporting ownership (engaging stakeholders to understand how reporting is used before building, creating dashboards that are adopted not just delivered), business acumen (investing in understanding the business by asking the right questions before pulling data), communication (asking enough upfront to make sure the answer lands with the right context for the right audience), proactive ownership (surfacing problems early, engaging before being asked, driving work forward with a clear point of view), collaboration (building trust by asking genuine questions and showing care about what stakeholders need), curiosity and growth (asking more than most and being driven to grow from technical executor into analytical partner over time).
Total compensation: base salary is set according to market rates for the nearest major metro and varies based on Launch Potato's Levels Framework. The compensation package includes a base salary, profit-sharing bonus, and competitive benefits. Launch Potato is a performance-driven company, meaning future increases after hiring will be based on company and personal performance, not annual cost of living adjustments.
Since day one, the company has been committed to a diverse, inclusive team and culture. It is an Equal Employment Opportunity company valuing diversity, equity, and inclusion, with no discrimination based on race, religion, color, national origin, gender (including pregnancy, childbirth, or related medical conditions), sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, age, status as a protected veteran, status as an individual with a disability, or other legally protected characteristics.
