Ajaib, a fintech platform in Indonesia, is looking for a Sr. Software Development Engineer in Test II (Sr. SDET II) to lead quality engineering on its growing microservices platform. This senior individual contributor role carries technical leadership responsibilities within the QA/SDET function, covering test strategy, automation framework development, and mentoring SDETs, without full-time people management duties. Responsibilities include owning test strategy and automation architecture across multiple squads or product areas covering backend, frontend, and mobile; designing, building, and scaling test automation frameworks for API, UI, contract, integration, and performance testing; partnering with engineering leads and architects to integrate testability and quality gates into designs and CI/CD pipelines; mentoring and upskilling SDET engineers while reviewing their test designs and driving best practices across squads; leading cross-functional initiatives on non-functional testing including performance, reliability, security, and chaos engineering; collaborating with DevOps to optimize test pipelines for speed, scalability, and reliability; diagnosing complex production issues and performing root-cause analysis to drive systemic fixes; and introducing tools, test data solutions, mocks, and dashboards to improve developer productivity and release confidence. Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience); 6+ years of experience in QA/SDET/software engineering with at least 2+ years designing frameworks and leading quality initiatives; strong programming skills in Python, Java, or JavaScript/TypeScript with the ability to design and extend frameworks; expertise in modern automation tools such as WebdriverIO, Cypress, Appium, Selenium, Playwright, REST Assured, and others; proven experience testing distributed systems and microservices architectures including API contract testing and service mocking; solid understanding of performance, load, and security testing using tools like JMeter, Gatling, k6, and OWASP; hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines such as GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, and Jenkins; exceptional debugging, analytical, and problem-solving skills; strong communication skills with experience influencing engineers and stakeholders at multiple levels; and experience with AI-assisted automation tools or integrating AI to optimize test coverage and efficiency.
