As a Backend Engineer at Ajaib, you will be responsible for designing, building, testing, and deploying robust software solutions that serve millions of users. You will work closely with product and business leaders to offer technical guidance, mentor other engineers, and help foster our fast-paced engineering culture. Responsibilities include designing, developing, testing, and deploying resilient software solutions that power high-scale financial platforms; delivering high-performance, low-latency services that can handle high transaction volumes; building and optimizing fault-tolerant distributed systems under rapid growth conditions; partnering with product and business stakeholders to address technical constraints and requirements; sharing past experiences, maintaining disciplined technical execution, and mentoring fellow engineers; deploying to hybrid environments and offering operational technical support; applying AI with a "human in the loop" principle alongside critical and thoughtful evaluation of AI solutions; and quickly learning new technologies and concepts with genuine curiosity. Requirements: Experience: Minimum 3+ years of professional software development experience, with a strong focus on distributed systems or backend architecture. Languages & Frameworks: Strong proficiency in at least one of the following core programming languages and frameworks: Java, C, Go, or Rust. Databases: Solid hands-on experience with MySQL or PostgreSQL, including query tuning and optimization. Redis experience is a significant plus. Message Brokers: Strong, practical experience with asynchronous processing and system decoupling in a reliable and retriable way. Kafka and NATS experience is a significant plus. Cloud Infrastructure: Skilled in deployments on major cloud providers. GCP experience is a significant plus, and Kubernetes knowledge is a significant plus. Autonomy: Capable of working independently with minimal guidance, highly responsible, and self-motivated. Mindset: Passionate about technology, software craftsmanship, and continuous learning.
