In 2019, the company built the first mobile-first insurance platform, making insurance accessible online to millions across the region, and it has since become the leading insurance platform in Southeast Asia. The company is now expanding into helping people in Asia with spending, saving, investing, exchanging, travelling, and more, with the goal of building tools that help people get more from their money while developing self-reliance and expertise. The team operates globally with over 20 nationalities, working from offices and remotely. KIRA is developing an AI Stockbroking Superapp for Southeast Asia covering payments, remittance, insurance, wealth, and trading. These products handle real money, so reliability, regulatory requirements, and third-party financial rails are core to the product rather than secondary concerns. The Technical Product Manager will own a product vertical end-to-end, from strategy and outcomes through technical design, delivery, and launch. The team is AI-native by default, but AI is a tool, not the end goal — the standard is recognizing where AI genuinely improves outcomes, where deterministic systems must remain in control, and how to build products that are reliable, auditable, and trusted. Responsibilities include owning a product vertical end-to-end with strategy, metrics, roadmap, priorities, and delivery; shaping technical design with engineering across APIs, data flows, ledgering, reconciliation, failure handling, security, and scalability; driving trade-offs among correctness, speed, cost, reliability, regulatory requirements, and user experience; embedding regulatory requirements into the product across KYC, transaction monitoring, limits, privacy, and licensing; applying AI where it improves outcomes with clear evaluation, safeguards, human oversight, and failure handling; shipping products around external dependencies including regulatory approvals, financial rails, and third-party partners; and aligning Engineering, Design, Compliance, Operations, Treasury, and Finance around clear product decisions and launch requirements. Requirements include 5+ years of product management experience with ownership of complex technical products from strategy through production; a strong technical foundation in system architecture, APIs, databases, workflows, failure modes, and distributed systems; experience working closely with engineers and the ability to review, challenge, and contribute to technical designs; experience in payments, banking, remittance, insurance, trading, or another regulated, high-consequence product domain; strong product judgment and the ability to make difficult trade-offs under technical, regulatory, and operational constraints; and experience building with LLMs or AI products including evaluation, reliability, and understanding when AI should not be used. Nice to have: an engineering or highly technical product background, experience building zero-to-one fintech or consumer products, and experience defining evaluation frameworks for ML or LLM-powered products. Expected outcomes: clear vertical strategy and legible roadmap; fast shipping while clearing gates that actually block launch; correct money handling with users never misled about the state of their funds; AI features that are valuable, predictable, and trusted; deliberate trade-offs under uncertainty that hold up when challenged; and alignment among engineering, design, compliance, and operations with minimal friction. This is a remote role. The company hires globally and works across multiple countries and time zones. Candidates should be comfortable working effectively in a distributed, fast-moving international team and collaborating with colleagues across different locations. English is the main working language across global teams, and strong English communication is required. The interview process is designed to move fast: online assessment or practical task, technical interview, then CEO/final round.
