The Head of engineering role holds both a strategic and technical function within the company. On the strategic side, this involves setting team goals, hiring engineers, and prioritizing projects. On the technical side, it includes active participation in developing new products, identifying requirements, and establishing timelines. Candidates must have extensive experience as an engineer prior to taking this position, along with experience managing complex tech projects and knowledge of building products and features from the ground up. The technology/engineering team consists of 100+ talented people. Alongside the Product teams, the core mission is to create innovative and scalable solutions that support Amartha's business growth. Responsibilities: Oversee front-end and back-end development teams and their projects; Monitor reliability and performance of all internal systems to suggest improvements; Ensure compliance with relevant regulations; Manage software development projects by setting requirements, goals, and timelines; Design strategies for future development projects based on the company's overall objectives and resources; Hire engineers and coordinate their training; Implement innovative technologies; Coordinate with stakeholders for new integrations and tools. Requirements: Experience in developing data intensive applications is a must; Experience in SaaS development; Experience in open API development; Solid enterprise integration architecture knowledge; Experience in leading a squad of 5-10 people; Solid engineer hiring experience; Hands-on GCP tech experience including Cloud SQL Postgres, Cloud Run, Pub/sub, and others; Built a scalable architecture; Experience with incident management; Monitoring distributed systems; Agile practices such as scrum or kanban; Willingness to do coding work when required; Experience with CI/CD; Experience with automated testing; Hiring software engineers; Experience with team management; Fintech/financial institution/banking experience; Machine Learning experience is a plus; Experience with TDD; Experience with refactoring large systems; Experience with event driven architecture; Kafka, Kubernetes, Grafana, and Prometheus experience is a plus.
