Senior Integration Engineer (Remote, Mexico) — Legion This role involves on-call rotation, standard shift hours of 0900-1800, and may require work outside normal business hours. Core responsibilities include designing and building scalable integration architectures connecting Legion with HR, POS, Payroll, and other enterprise systems; designing, building, and testing integrations using Workato; developing secure and efficient REST APIs; ensuring high-performance, reliable integrations on modern cloud platforms; collaborating with architects and engineers for design and code reviews; maintaining deep knowledge of Legion's product and integration ecosystem; identifying, reporting, and prioritizing product bugs and enhancements; collaborating with core engineering and production teams to improve backend reliability and troubleshoot production issues; staying updated on new releases to drive product adoption; writing secure, enterprise-grade integration code using leading platforms and technologies; writing well-designed, testable, efficient code; contributing to all phases of the development lifecycle; conducting peer code reviews to ensure code quality and maintainability; mentoring junior engineers and fostering knowledge-sharing; contributing to best practices for integration and internal technical documentation; supporting process improvements and advocating for scalable, sustainable integrations; and committing to high-quality work with personal and team objectives aligned with organizational goals. Required qualifications: 7+ years of business/information/solution/technical architecture experience; a Bachelor's or Master's degree from a university in a relevant STEM field such as Information Systems, Engineering, Computer Science, or another relevant degree; ability to work both as a team player and independently; analytical, results-driven, and solution-oriented approach; exceptional interpersonal and English communication skills including verbal, written presentation, and listening; 3+ years of experience with event-driven Architecture and Microservices; demonstrated deep technical expertise in integration technologies and protocols such as HTTP, HTTPS, FTP, SFTP, SOAP, REST, JMS, JDBC; experience using Linux/Unix environments; proficiency with Core Java; experience with Relational Databases, SQL and JDBC (one of Oracle, PostgreSQL, SQL Server, etc.); 2+ years of experience using AWS technologies such as AWS CDK, Cloud formation, S3, ECS, EKS, and EC2; demonstrated experience with test-driven development; strong experience with Java/RESTful web services; exposure to agile software development leveraging toolsets (e.g., Jira, GitHub, Jenkins); demonstrated knowledge and experience with CI/CD processes and tools; a proven track record of using problem-solving/root-cause analysis. Preferred qualifications: workforce management integration experience; preferred experience in the design and implementation of scalable integration solutions with integration platforms such as Workato, SAP BTP Integration Suite, Dell Boomi, Jitterbit, SnapLogic; being proactive and able to command respect through intelligence, hard work, and persistence; technical consulting experience; experience with Docker and other isolation technologies; experience working with external applications integrations end-to-end such as Workday, SAP, etc. Compensation & Benefits: As a fully remote employer, pay is determined using local, national, and industry-specific survey data. Salaries are based on the applicant's location, level of experience, education, and specialized knowledge and skills, as well as external market rate, internally budgeted amounts, and internal equity for the same position.
