The Procurement Analyst plays a critical role in ensuring the company obtains goods, services, and materials in a cost-effective and efficient way. The position involves researching potential suppliers, negotiating contracts, and overseeing the entire procurement process. It is a key part of supply chain management and requires close collaboration with different departments across the organization.
Responsibilities include analyzing spending data to uncover cost-saving opportunities and supplier consolidation areas; researching and identifying qualified potential suppliers for a range of goods and services; developing and issuing Requests for Proposals (RFPs) and Requests for Quotation (RFQs) to gather vendor bids; evaluating supplier proposals and quotations based on criteria such as price, quality, delivery time, and past performance; negotiating contract terms and conditions with vendors to obtain the best deal for the company; managing the procurement process to ensure all steps are carried out efficiently and in compliance with company policies; maintaining and updating supplier databases and information; monitoring supplier performance and ensuring contract terms are followed; preparing reports on procurement activities and achieved cost savings; staying current with market trends and industry best practices in procurement; participating in cross-functional teams to develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with company goals; and assisting in analyzing and developing improved policies, plans, methods, procedures, and systems for acquisition management programs.
Qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Purchasing, or a related field (preferred); a minimum of 2 years of experience in procurement or a related field; strong analytical and problem-solving abilities; excellent negotiation and communication skills; proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); experience with procurement software (SAP B1/ERP) is a plus; knowledge of procurement best practices is preferred; the ability to work independently and as part of a team; strong attention to detail and the ability to effectively prioritize tasks.
