As a Web Frontend Engineer, the role involves building core web experiences spanning Chat, Notes, Calendar, Docs and Sheets, owning complex, highly interactive product surfaces from architecture through implementation in close collaboration with product, design, backend and AI engineers. Responsibilities include developing major web experiences across Chat, Notes, Calendar, Docs and Sheets; building complex interactions such as real-time messaging, collaborative editing, rich-text editing, scheduling, tables, and spreadsheets; creating reusable frontend architecture and components that work consistently across ActAI applications; integrating streaming AI responses, proactive actions and model-driven experiences into product workflows; owning frontend performance, responsiveness, reliability and accessibility across browsers and devices; and working closely with product and design to move ideas from prototype to production quickly. Candidates should have strong experience building complex, production web applications using React, TypeScript and modern frontend technologies; a deep understanding of frontend architecture, state management, browser APIs and performance; experience building highly interactive products such as chat, collaboration, productivity, document editing, calendars or workspaces; experience with real-time systems, WebSockets, streaming APIs or collaborative interfaces; and strong product and UI judgment with attention to interaction details. They should be able to independently own features from technical design through production. Desired outcomes include users seamlessly communicating, writing, organising and collaborating across Chat, Notes, Calendar, Docs and Sheets; complex interactions feeling fast and reliable; AI capabilities integrated naturally into product workflows rather than as separate chatbot experiences; and frontend architecture staying fast, maintainable and reusable as ActAI expands into new applications and workflows. Tech stack: TypeScript, React.js / Next.js, HTML / CSS, WebSockets / streaming APIs, Node.js, REST / GraphQL APIs.
