Playson creates premium casino games and platform solutions for operators globally, with products reaching millions of players in regulated markets. The company is seeking a Software Developer, Compliance to own the engineering behind its certification and compliance pipeline — enabling faster and safer product releases while ensuring the platform and games withstand scrutiny from a certification lab, an ISO assessor, and a future SOC 2 auditor.
In this role, you sit within compliance as a software developer, building and continuously improving a secure compliance pipeline so games and platform changes can ship faster and safer. You will serve as the technical defender of shipped work when auditors, certification labs, or regulators ask questions. The scope extends beyond games to include ISO certification of systems and the evidence work leading into a future SOC 2 audit. Across all scenarios, you produce proof, walk auditors through it, and answer questions with requested evidence — then stop there.
You own the technical side of game certification: taking a game math package from the review channel to the lab, producing required evidence (build hashes, PAR sheets, configuration snapshots, version manifests), and answering the lab's technical questions independently. When a certificate returns, you confirm every deficiency is closed before the game passes the pre-release gate. Between lab submissions, you treat the pipeline as a product — replacing manual evidence collection, one-off screenshots, and tribal knowledge with automated controls, tightened audit trails, and a shorter path from "ready to ship" to "ready to show an auditor" without weakening standards.
Requirements include 3+ years writing production code, comfortable reading others' codebases. Strong Node.js and TypeScript proficiency, since game math packages, engine integration, rules and bets migrations, test suites, and compliance automation are JavaScript-side. You will read game math code to verify it matches what was communicated to the lab and write tooling to make that check repeatable. You should have worked for an iGaming game provider, lottery, or similar business where products require certification. You build pipelines rather than checklists — turning manual, high-stakes processes into engineered, automated evidence with versioned artefacts and gates that fail closed. SQL querying, log investigation, and metrics pipeline understanding are needed to distinguish real control failures from broken dashboards. You remain composed in front of auditors during lab sessions, ISO assessments, or future SOC 2 walkthroughs, communicating precisely and factually while escalating regulatory interpretations to the Head of Compliance. You know where your authority ends, writing documentation that survives years of reading by people who were not present, saying no calmly when changes fail the gate, and checking version numbers rather than relying on memory.
Nice to have: direct dealings with certification labs (GLI, BMM, eCOGRA, iTech Labs, or similar) or gaming regulators; hands-on evidence work for ISO 27001, SOC 2, or equivalent audits; understanding of RNG, RTP mathematics, and statistical certification evidence; familiarity with multi-jurisdiction licensing (UKGC, MGA, regulated EU and LatAm markets); observability and alerting tooling such as Datadog including building automation on top; experience with change-management controls, audit trails, and segregation-of-duties models; incident response experience with regulatory or audit dimensions.
What you can expect: a role with real authority — you hold gate sign-off, and a release does not go past you without it. Genuine engineering work — you own the compliance pipeline as a product. Direct exposure to certification labs, ISO assessors, and the path to SOC 2. Close collaboration with math, QA, platform, and SRE across games and the platform. A compliance function being built up deliberately with room to shape how it works.
Benefits: Competitive Salary, Quarterly Bonuses, Unlimited Paid Time Off, Unlimited Paid Sick Leave, Remote & Flexible Working, Private Medical Insurance, Financial Support for Life Events, Professional Development Budget, International Exposure, Regular Company Events. Benefits may vary depending on location and contractual agreement.
