Cleaner / Cleaning Staff — CLAY Bali, Ubud CLAY Bali is a new premium restaurant and lounge opening in Ubud. Its concept draws inspiration from the Silk Road, fire, earth, warm hospitality, tea, and long evenings around the table. Cleanliness, organization, and attention to detail are considered essential to premium hospitality because a clean, well-maintained environment creates comfort for guests and supports high restaurant operating standards. We are seeking responsible, hardworking, disciplined, and detail-oriented Cleaners / Cleaning Staff to maintain excellent cleanliness standards throughout the restaurant. The ideal candidate takes pride in their work, understands the importance of hygiene, and can maintain a clean, comfortable, and welcoming environment for guests and employees. Main Responsibilities Maintain cleanliness and hygiene throughout all restaurant areas. Perform daily cleaning in guest areas, dining rooms, lounge areas, corridors, and entrances. Clean and maintain guest restrooms throughout operating hours, ensuring they remain clean, dry, fresh, and stocked with necessary supplies. Clean floors, walls, windows, mirrors, doors, and other surfaces. Regularly inspect and clean high-contact areas such as door handles, railings, and furniture. Remove dust from furniture, decorations, shelves, and interior elements. Clean and maintain outdoor areas, terraces, and restaurant entrances. Collect, separate, and dispose of waste according to restaurant procedures. Replace trash bags and maintain cleanliness around waste collection areas. Monitor and refill restroom supplies, including toilet paper, soap, and hand towels. Maintain cleanliness in staff areas, changing rooms, and designated back-of-house spaces. Perform scheduled deep cleaning of assigned areas and support cleaning before opening, during service, and after closing. Respond quickly to spills, dirt, and urgent cleaning requests while maintaining cleanliness without disturbing guests or restaurant operations. Properly use cleaning chemicals, tools, and equipment, follow safety instructions when handling cleaning products, and store equipment and supplies in designated areas. Report damaged furniture, equipment, plumbing issues, or maintenance problems to management. Monitor cleaning supply levels and report when additional products are required. Follow daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning checklists, and maintain cleanliness and organization in cleaning storage areas. Coordinate with the Restaurant Manager and service team during operating hours and support additional cleaning tasks when required. Key Requirements Previous experience as a Cleaner, Housekeeping Staff member, Public Area Attendant, or in a similar position is preferred. Experience in restaurants, hotels, resorts, villas, or premium hospitality establishments is an advantage. Candidates should have a good understanding of cleaning procedures and hygiene standards; knowledge of basic cleaning products, tools, and equipment; and the ability to clean different surfaces and materials safely. Strong attention to detail is required, along with the ability to maintain cleanliness during busy restaurant operations, good organizational and time-management skills, and the ability to follow cleaning schedules and checklists. Candidates must be responsible, punctual, disciplined, hardworking, honest, reliable, trustworthy, and able to work independently and as part of a team. They must be physically able to perform cleaning duties throughout the shift. A positive attitude, willingness to learn, and the ability to follow instructions from supervisors and management are required. Bahasa Indonesia communication skills are required, and basic English communication skills are an advantage. Candidates must be flexible and comfortable working shifts, weekends, and public holidays. They must be based in Bali or ready to work in Ubud. They remain responsible and organized during busy periods, understand the importance of hygiene and safety, take responsibility for assigned cleaning areas, and are motivated to maintain high cleanliness standards every day. Cleaning Philosophy At CLAY Bali, cleanliness is considered an important part of the guest experience and the restaurant’s reputation. Cleaning standards are based on cleanliness, attention to detail, consistency, hygiene, responsibility, efficiency, care, and teamwork. Every area must remain clean and well-maintained, small details are important in premium hospitality, cleanliness standards must be maintained throughout the entire day, and guest and employee health and safety are always priorities. Every team member takes ownership of assigned areas. Cleaning tasks must be completed without disrupting restaurant operations, and furniture, decorations, equipment, and interior materials must be handled carefully. Maintaining a clean restaurant requires coordination between departments. Reporting Line The Cleaner / Cleaning Staff will report to the Restaurant Manager / Operations Manager and work closely with the Restaurant Manager, Floor Supervisor, Service Team, Hostess Team, Kitchen Team, Bar Team, Maintenance Team, and Operations Team. Main Results of the Position Every guest should enter a clean and welcoming restaurant, enjoy a comfortable and hygienic dining environment, find restrooms clean, fresh, and properly maintained, experience clean furniture, floors, and surrounding areas, feel comfortable throughout the visit, and leave with a positive impression of the restaurant’s cleanliness and standards. Every assigned area should be fully cleaned and prepared before opening, remain clean and organized throughout operating hours, receive regular inspections and maintenance cleaning, meet established hygiene and safety standards, be properly cleaned and organized after closing, and follow daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning schedules.
